Why people look for a Quizlet alternative
Learn and Test are limited for free
Quizlet's free plan includes flashcards and Match, but Learn rounds and practice tests are capped. Quizlet Plus costs $7.99 a month or $35.99 a year.
Ads on the free plan
The free plan is ad-supported, which some students find distracting during long sessions.
Remembering for the long term
Quizlet's spaced repetition works on the website only, and Quizlet doesn't say which algorithm it uses. Apps built on FSRS or SM-2 schedule each card based on how well you remember it.
Making cards from your own notes
Quizlet's AI study tools are limited on the free plan. Several alternatives generate flashcards from your notes, PDFs, or videos.
Keeping your existing sets
You can export sets you created on the Quizlet website and import them elsewhere. Sets you copied from other people can't be exported.

How to move your Quizlet sets
Quizlet lets you export sets you created (not sets you copied from other people), and only on the website. Images aren't included.
- 1On quizlet.com, go to Your library, select Flashcard sets, and open the set.
- 2Select the more (…) menu, then Export.
- 3Choose Comma between term and definition and New line between rows, then select Copy text.
- 4Paste the text into a plain-text file and save it with a .csv extension.
- 5Import the file. In Deckbase, follow the Quizlet to Deckbase guide. In Anki, use File, then Import. Knowt, Gizmo, and RemNote have their own Quizlet importers.
