Import an Anki deck
Find a shared deck on AnkiWeb (it opens in a new tab), download it, then drop the .apkg below. Your first cards show right away, images and audio included, before you sign up.

Migration rules that prevent quality regressions
Always run a pilot first
Import one active deck, complete real review sessions for a week, and evaluate retention signals before moving your full library.
Preserve one source of truth
Keep raw exports unchanged and track cleanup versions to avoid conflicting fixes across tools.
Batch by topic, not by file size
Topic-level batches are easier to QA and make long-term deck maintenance cleaner.
Frequently asked questions about Anki import
How do I import Anki decks into Deckbase?
Export your Anki deck as .apkg or CSV, then upload it to Deckbase. The importer maps fields automatically and preserves your card content. Start with one pilot deck to verify formatting before importing your full library.
Can I import Quizlet decks into Deckbase?
Yes. Export your Quizlet set as CSV, then import it into Deckbase. You can also use Deckbase as a Quizlet-to-Anki bridge by exporting to CSV and importing into either app.
What file formats does Deckbase support for import?
Deckbase supports Anki .apkg, CSV, Excel (.xlsx), TSV, and plain text. Images and audio are preserved when imported from .apkg files.
Will my Anki scheduling data transfer to Deckbase?
Anki interval and ease data do not transfer because Deckbase uses FSRS natively. Your card content, media, and tags are preserved. FSRS will rebuild optimal intervals within two weeks of regular review.
Is Anki import free on Deckbase?
Yes. Importing existing decks is free on all plans; images and audio count toward your plan's storage. AI card generation from new material uses credits, and every account starts with free credits. See Pricing for details.
Does Deckbase download decks from AnkiWeb for me?
No. The search on this page opens AnkiWeb in a new tab and you download the deck yourself. AnkiWeb doesn't allow third-party apps to access it, so the importer only works with files you drop in.
Can I see my deck before signing up?
Yes. Drop the .apkg on this page and the first cards appear right away, with their images and audio. The file is read in your browser and nothing is uploaded until you create a free account.
Can I share an imported AnkiWeb deck?
Imported decks stay private to your account. Decks shared on AnkiWeb are licensed for personal study only, so please don't republish them unless you made the deck or the author allows it.
