Why turn web pages into flashcards

Keep what you read

Articles are easy to read and easy to forget. Turning the key points into cards means you actually remember them a month later.

Only the main content

Menus, ads and footers are skipped. The AI writes cards from the article itself, one idea per card.

Lists become clean decks

Pages with a repeating layout — vocabulary lists, glossaries, product or term tables — are read as rows, so every item becomes its own card.

Study anywhere

Save the deck to your account and review it with FSRS on the web, iPhone and Android, with sync between them.

How to turn a web page into flashcards

1. Copy the link. Open the article or page you want to learn from and copy its address.

2. Paste it in the box. Paste the link above and press Create flashcards. Deckbase fetches the page's main text.

3. Check the cards. AI writes question-and-answer cards from the page. The whole deck appears right away.

4. Save and study. Create a free account to keep the whole deck and review it with spaced repetition.

Pages behind a login

The link box reads public pages. For pages you only see when signed in — course portals, paywalled articles, internal docs — use the Deckbase extension for Chrome: it makes cards from the page you have open, exactly as you see it.

You can also save the page as a PDF and use PDF to flashcards.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn a website into flashcards for free?

Yes. Paste a link above and your deck appears without an account. A free account saves the whole deck and includes free credits for more AI decks.

Which websites work?

Public pages with readable text: news and blog articles, Wikipedia, documentation, course notes and study guides. Pages that need a login can't be fetched from a link — copy the text into the Text tab instead.

How much of a long article is used?

The free preview uses the start of the page. After signing up, the assistant can work through the whole page, and through the next pages of a multi-page list.

Does it work with YouTube videos?

Yes. Paste a YouTube link in the YouTube tab (or here) and the cards are made from what's said in the video. See YouTube to flashcards for details.

Can I edit the cards?

Yes. Every card opens in the editor, where you can change the wording, add images or audio, and delete anything you don't need.
